DV 2009 Results

For the DV 2009 nearly 9.1 million applicants submitted their entries from all over the world. From these entries nearly 99,600 people were selected to issue with the 50,000 available immigrant visas.

DV 2009 Results were already announced to the winners with further instructions in 2008 between the months of May and July. Only the regular postal mail was used to announce the results. The individuals who were selected by the computer random draw were sent with the winning notifications to their addresses which were submitted in the E-DV application forms by them last year.
Only those selected for further processing were informed and those who are not selected will not get any notification.
The DV visa interviews are already started from 1st of October 2008 and will close midnight on 30th September 2009.
After this date changing of status under this program or issuing visas under this program will not be carried out.
Selected people will be called for the interview according to their case numbers. Lower numbers will be called for the interview first.

The winners will also get necessary information on visa fees and how to proceed further with the visa processing. E-mail, telephone or fax will not be used to announce the winners. If you get any notification through any of these verify it good. You will not pay any money till you attend for the interview at the embassy.

The US Embassies and the Consulates too will not be able to provide you the winner’s names.

News papers in some countries like Nepal and Albania get their country DV Lottery winners name from the post office and publish them as winners name list. For the DV2010 Results

When you submit the entry successfully for the DV2010, you will get a confirmation page with your name with a unique confirmation number. Save this or make a print out of this and keep it in a safe place. From July you can check in the dv lottery web site, whether you are selected or not by entering the confirmation number. Keep in mind this confirmation number can't be reissued, so don't loose it.
