DV 2010 Online check will allow all the applicants to check their status, whether they are selected or not for the current diversity visa program. For the first time in the DV Lottery history those who has made their entries will be allowed to check their winning status online.

When a person submits a successful entry, the computer screen will display the applicant's name along with a unique confirmation number. This detail must be made as a printout or can be saved in the computer or written in a paper. Applicants must be careful to keep this safe as this will not be re-issued later. From the 1st of July 2009 till June 30th 2010 all the applicants can go to the Official DV Lottery web site and can check whether they are selected or not for the American Government's official diversity visa lottery program. For this they will need that confirmation number which was given at the time of the application and their personal details. Once entered the required details the result will show if the applicant is selected or not for to proceed further with the visa application.

Further more only the selected applicants will be notified by regular postal mail with further instruction in the months of May to July 2009.

No e-mail, fax or telephone will be used to announce the winner.

The visa fees should be paid only to the US Consular office on the day of the interview.
